More than 3,000 children go missing in Pakistan every year, Sadly, there are very few resources to recover these children, who are often displaced quickly into areas where regular media coverage does not exist. To reach the masses more effectively, a very unique form of Pakistani art - called "Truck Art" - in which goods and transport trucks are painted with floral patterns, animals and famous personalities - was used.
We collaborated with Samar Minallah Khan, a conceptual artist/anthropologist, and local truck artists to replace the portraits of famous personalities with images of missing children.
These trucks travel to all parts of Pakistan, both urban and rural, and spread not only the news of the missing child but also awareness of Roshni Helpline, which assists in recovering children.
